Senator Bernie Sanders, participating in 2020 United States presidential election, was hospitalized on Tuesday with chest pains, Voice of America reports. A 78-year-old politician was found to have a blocked artery.
Vermont Independent Senator is the oldest US presidential candidate. His campaign has been suspended, and all his campaign appearances have been canceled in the coming days. He underwent a stenting operation - installation of two scaffolds inside the artery, ensuring the patency of the vessel.
Sanders is one of the three most popular potential candidates for the presidency of the United States from the Democratic Party. According to RealClearPolitics, it ranks third in popularity among Democratic candidates. Before him is former US Vice President Joe Biden and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Despite the age of the politician, his opponents have not yet questioned the state of his health in the debate, although Biden, who is two years younger, has come across this. In September, he lost his voice, but his aides said he was doing well.
