In Thailand, an American drug lord arrested, according to local newspaper The Bangkok Post. Operation to capture the 48-year-old U.S. citizen Joseph Manuel Hunter was carried out on September 25 in the evening on the island of Phuket.
Along with him were also detained three other alleged members of his gang. Meanwhile, The Associated Press reported on the detention of five other people. According to the agency, there are two Brits , Slovakia, Filipinos and Taiwanese. All suspects are brought to Bangkok, where they are coming interrogations.
Hunt was arrested on request of U.S. authorities. According to the leadership of Thailand, Joseph Hunter arrived at Phuket Airport on September 6 and has since remained on the island. September 19, after an appeal from the Americans, immigration visa annulled Thailand Hunter.
In the U.S. Joseph Hunter is accused of drug dealing. A warrant for his arrest was issued by a New York court on July 17. The warrant also been given his five accomplices, who were detained. It is expected that they will be deported to the United States. According to the U.S. anti-drug agency, the group led by Hunter acted outside the United States, in various countries, including Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
According to U.S. authorities, Joseph Hunter served in the U.S. Navy. Military training and have all the other members of the group. |
